Earth Hour 2014 takes place today! What’s that, you ask? At 8:30 PM local time, people around the world will switch their lights off for an hour as a symbol of their dedication to protecting the planet. I’m going to take part and turn off all my lights, lamps and even my reading torch!
Earth Hour comes just once a year, but we can do lots of small things to help the environment every day. For example, we can make sure we recycle our newspaper instead of throwing it away, or we can bring a cloth bag when we go shopping instead of using a plastic carrier bag.
What other little things could we all do daily to protect the Earth? Let me know your suggestions below!
